Hi! I’m Kaylee

(She/her/ella)

As I get older, I grow in my understanding that one of the bravest things we can do is to ask for help.  I know how scary it can be to even begin this process.

I’m a cis, mixed Latine (cuban/white), child of an immigrant, artist, mama, disabled person, and fellow navigator of this wild world.  I approach my work as a therapist gently, working collaboratively to create an environment that feels secure to you.  I believe that one of the greatest tools in therapy is the therapeutic relationship and so I really lean in to building trust through being a human in the space with you (sharing my own humanity, my quirkiness, and humor).  I like to go deeper into your history and narratives so that healing can really be activated, as opposed to offering band-aids.

Healing is an active verb that takes time, compassion, and understanding.

I’m here to be alongside you for your journey, one step at a time.

SPECIALITIES

  • Attachment based; this therapeutic approach emphasizes going deeper with exploration of emotions, reaching a more authentic channel of communication to your needs and desires. It supports a healthier relationship with yourself and others.

  • Another language in which to process your feelings, without the pressure of coming up with words for your experience.  It depends on the individual in session, but art in therapy can look like using art materials (such as markers, pastels, clay) to explore a feeling or situation.

  • The therapeutic relationship can be such a helpful tool for healing and change. That is why there is an emphasis on creating a collaborative, secure environment, led by you.

lentamente means “slowly” in Spanish and acknowledges that healing is not something we can fast forward or accelerate, although we would like to.
